Dennis , who is tormented by nightmares and visions of a frozen lake where his father drowned himself, wants to move back in with his mother. His fears seem to be a result of the impending birth of his first child.

Since the pregnancy of his now ex-girlfriend Asha, he has been overcome by feelings of guilt about the death of his Nigerian father sixteen years ago. For Dennis a voodoo spell seems to be the only way to unburden himself and his loved ones.
